He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on\nhim. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>26<\/b><\/font> It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he\nhad seen the Lord\u2019s Messiah. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font> Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts.\nWhen the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the\nLaw required, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font> Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>29<\/b><\/font>\n \u201cSovereign Lord, as you have promised,\nyou may now dismiss your servant in peace.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>30<\/b><\/font>\n For my eyes have seen your salvation,\n <br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>31<\/b><\/font>\n which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:\n <br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>32<\/b><\/font>\n a light for revelation to the Gentiles,\nand the glory of your people Israel.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>33<\/b><\/font>\n The child\u2019s father and mother marvelled at what was said about him. \n <br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>34<\/b><\/font> Then\nSimeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: \u201cThis child is destined to cause\nthe falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken\nagainst, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>35<\/b><\/font> so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed.
