Given by our visiting preacher and one time vicar Rev Joy Daniel on the 10th Sunday after Trinity on the 24\/8\/25 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/240825_202508\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/240825_202508\/240825.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 4:06<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Hebrews 12 v 18-end\t \n<br><br>\nThe mountain of fear and the mountain of joy<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>19<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>20<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;because they could not bear what was commanded: \u2018If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>21<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, \u2018I am trembling with fear.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>22<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>23<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>24<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>25<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>26<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.\u2019&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;The words \u2018once more\u2019 indicate the removing of what can be shaken&nbsp;\u2013 that is, created things&nbsp;\u2013 so that what cannot be shaken may remain.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>29<\/b><\/font>for our \u2018God is a consuming fire.\n<br><br><br>\n\n<font color=\"red\">Luke 13 v 10-17\t \n<br><br>\nJesus heals a crippled woman on the Sabbath<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her,&nbsp;\u2018Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.\u2019&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>14<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, \u2018There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>15<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;The Lord answered him,&nbsp;\u2018You hypocrites! Doesn\u2019t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>16<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>17<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.\n<br><br>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
