Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>59<\/b><\/font> While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, \u2018Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.\u2019 \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>60<\/b><\/font> Then he fell on his knees and cried out, \u2018Lord, do not hold this sin against them.\u2019 When he had said this, he fell asleep.\n<br><br><br>\n\n<font color=\"red\">John 14 v 1-14\t \n<br><br>\nJesus Comforts His Disciples<\/font>\n <br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font>\u2018Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> My Father\u2019s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font> And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> You know the way to the place where I am going.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font> Thomas said to him, \u2018Lord, we don\u2019t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> Jesus answered, \u2018I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> Philip said, \u2018Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> Jesus answered: \u2018Don\u2019t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, \u201cShow us the Father\u201d? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> Don\u2019t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font> Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font> Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font> And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>14<\/b><\/font> You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
