The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>21<\/strong><\/font> Again Jesus said, \u201cPeace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>22<\/strong><\/font> And with that he breathed on them and said, \u201cReceive the Holy Spirit. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>23<\/strong><\/font> If you forgive anyone\u2019s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Jesus Appears to Thomas<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>24<\/strong><\/font> Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>25<\/strong><\/font> So the other disciples told him, \u201cWe have seen the Lord!\u201d\n<br><br>\nBut he said to them, \u201cUnless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>26<\/strong><\/font> A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, \u201cPeace be with you!\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>27<\/strong><\/font> Then he said to Thomas, \u201cPut your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>28<\/strong><\/font> Thomas said to him, \u201cMy Lord and my God!\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>29<\/strong><\/font> Then Jesus told him, \u201cBecause you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">The Purpose of John\u2019s Gospel<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>30<\/strong><\/font> Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>31<\/strong><\/font> But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This weeks Sermon from St Andrews Church is given by our vicar Rev\u2019 Cathy Pullinger on the second Sunday after Easter.
