The sermon is entitled \u201cThe Cost Of Following Jesus\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/300619\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3 <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/300619\/300619.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 1:40<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Luke 9 v 51-62<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Samaritan Opposition<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>51<\/strong><\/font> As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>52<\/strong><\/font> And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him; \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>53<\/strong><\/font> but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>54<\/strong><\/font> When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, \u201cLord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>55<\/strong><\/font> But Jesus turned and rebuked them. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>56<\/strong><\/font> Then he and his disciples went to another village.\n<br>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">The Cost of Following Jesus<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>57<\/strong><\/font> As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, \u201cI will follow you wherever you go.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>58<\/strong><\/font> Jesus replied, \u201cFoxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>59<\/strong><\/font> He said to another man, \u201cFollow me.\u201d\n<br><br>\nBut he replied, \u201cLord, first let me go and bury my father.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>60<\/strong><\/font> Jesus said to him, \u201cLet the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>61<\/strong><\/font> Still another said, \u201cI will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>62<\/strong><\/font> Jesus replied, \u201cNo one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.\u201d\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This weeks Sermon from St Andrews Church is given at the Baptism of Elena Eaglesham by our vicar the Rev\u2019 Cathy Pullinger.
