She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>12<\/strong><\/font> When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, \u201cWoman, you are set free from your infirmity.\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>13<\/strong><\/font> Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>14<\/strong><\/font> Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, \u201cThere are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>15<\/strong><\/font> The Lord answered him, \u201cYou hypocrites! Doesn\u2019t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>16<\/strong><\/font> Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>17<\/strong><\/font> When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church given by our vicar Rev&#8217; Cathy Pullinger on the 125\/8\/19 entitled \u201cHealing On The Sabbath\u201d.
