His food was locusts and wild honey. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>5<\/strong><\/font> People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>6<\/strong><\/font> Confessing their sins, they were baptised by him in the Jordan River.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>7<\/strong><\/font> But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: \u201cYou brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>8<\/strong><\/font> Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>9<\/strong><\/font> And do not think you can say to yourselves, \u2018We have Abraham as our father.\u2019 I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>10<\/strong><\/font> The axe is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>11<\/strong><\/font> \u201cI baptise you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.
