Recorded on  the 15\/12\/19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/151219_201912\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3 <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/151219_201912\/151219.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 3:40<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Isaiah 35 1-10<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Joy of the Redeemed<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>1<\/strong><\/font> The desert and the parched land will be glad;<br>\n    the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.<br>\nLike the crocus, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>2<\/strong><\/font> it will burst into bloom;<br>\n    it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.<br>\nThe glory of Lebanon will be given to it,<br>\n    the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;<br>\nthey will see the glory of the Lord,<br>\n    the splendor of our God.<br>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>3 <\/strong><\/font>Strengthen the feeble hands,<br>\n    steady the knees that give way;<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>4 <\/strong><\/font>say to those with fearful hearts,<br>\n    \u201cBe strong, do not fear;<br>\nyour God will come,<br>\n    he will come with vengeance;<br>\nwith divine retribution<br>\n    he will come to save you.\u201d<br>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>5 <\/strong><\/font>Then will the eyes of the blind be opened<br>\n    and the ears of the deaf unstopped.<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>6 <\/strong><\/font>Then will the lame leap like a deer,<br>\n    and the mute tongue shout for joy.<br>\nWater will gush forth in the wilderness<br>\n    and streams in the desert.<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>7 <\/strong><\/font>The burning sand will become a pool,<br>\n    the thirsty ground bubbling springs.<br>\nIn the haunts where jackals once lay,<br>\n    grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.<br>\n<br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>8 <\/strong><\/font>And a highway will be there;<br>\n    it will be called the Way of Holiness;<br>\n    it will be for those who walk on that Way.<br>\nThe unclean will not journey on it;<br>\n    wicked fools will not go about on it.<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>9 <\/strong><\/font>No lion will be there,<br>\n    nor any ravenous beast;<br>\n    they will not be found there.<br>\nBut only the redeemed will walk there,<br>\n<br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>10 <\/strong><\/font>and those the Lord has rescued will return.<br>\nThey will enter Zion with singing;<br>\n    everlasting joy will crown their heads.<br>\nGladness and joy will overtake them,<br>\n    and sorrow and sighing will flee away.<br>\n\n<br><br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Matthew 11 v 2-11<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>2<\/strong><\/font> When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>3<\/strong><\/font> to ask him, \u201cAre you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>4<\/strong><\/font> Jesus replied, \u201cGo back and report to John what you hear and see: \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>5<\/strong><\/font> The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>6<\/strong><\/font> Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>7<\/strong><\/font> As John\u2019s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: \u201cWhat did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>8<\/strong><\/font> If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings\u2019 palaces. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>9<\/strong><\/font> Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>10<\/strong><\/font> This is the one about whom it is written:\n<br><br>\n\u201c\u2018I will send my messenger ahead of you,<br>\n    who will prepare your way before you.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>11<\/strong><\/font> Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church given by our reader vicar Rev&#8217; Cathy Pullinger in the third Sunday in Advent and called &#8216;A Highway to Gladness.
