Given by our vicar Rev&#8217; Cathy Pullinger on the 4\/10\/20 entitled &#8220;A Study in Phillipians &#8211; 3&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/041020\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"35\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3 <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/041020\/041020.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 2:17<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Readings from Phillipians 3 v 3-14<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Philippians 3 v 3-14<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>3<\/strong><\/font> For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh\u2014 \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>4<\/strong><\/font> though I myself have reasons for such confidence.\n<br><br>\nIf someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>5<\/strong><\/font> circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>6<\/strong><\/font> as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>7<\/strong><\/font> But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>8<\/strong><\/font> What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>9<\/strong><\/font> and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ\u2014the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>10<\/strong><\/font> I want to know Christ\u2014yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>11<\/strong><\/font> and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>12<\/strong><\/font> Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>13<\/strong><\/font> Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>14<\/strong><\/font> I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
