The former things will not be\nremembered, nor will they come to mind. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font>  But be glad and rejoice forever in what I\nwill create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>19<\/b><\/font>  I will\nrejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of\ncrying will be heard in it no more.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>20<\/b><\/font>  \u201cNever again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man\nwho does not live out his years; the one who dies at a hundred will be thought a\nmere child; the one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>21<\/b><\/font>  They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their\nfruit.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>22<\/b><\/font>  No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat.\nFor as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long\nenjoy the work of their hands. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>23<\/b><\/font>  They will not labour in vain, nor will they bear\nchildren doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they\nand their descendants with them.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>24<\/b><\/font>  Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>25<\/b><\/font>  The wolf\nand the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, and dust will\nbe the serpent\u2019s food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,\u201d\nsays the Lord.\n<br><br><br>\n\n<font color=\"red\">John 20 v 1-18 <\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font>  Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the\ntomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font>  So she came\nrunning to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, \u201cThey\nhave taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don\u2019t know where they have put him!\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font>  So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font>  Both were running, but the\nother disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font>  He bent over and looked\nin at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font>  Then Simon Peter came along\nbehind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying\nthere, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font>  as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus\u2019 head. The cloth\nwas still lying in its place, separate from the linen. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font>  Finally the other disciple, who\nhad reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font>  (They still did\nnot understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font>  Then the\ndisciples went back to where they were staying.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font>  Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into\nthe tomb \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font>  and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus\u2019 body had been, one\nat the head and the other at the foot.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font>  They asked her, \u201cWoman, why are you crying?\u201d\n\u201cThey have taken my Lord away,\u201d she said, \u201cand I don\u2019t know where they have put\nhim.\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>14<\/b><\/font>  At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not\nrealize that it was Jesus.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>15<\/b><\/font>  He asked her, \u201cWoman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?\u201d\nThinking he was the gardener, she said, \u201cSir, if you have carried him away, tell me\nwhere you have put him, and I will get him.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>16<\/b><\/font>  Jesus said to her, \u201cMary.\u201d\nShe turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, \u201cRabboni!\u201d (which means\n\u201cTeacher\u201d).\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>17<\/b><\/font>  Jesus said, \u201cDo not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go\ninstead to my brothers and tell them, \u2018I am ascending to my Father and your Father,\nto my God and your God.\u2019\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font>  Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: \u201cI have seen the Lord!\u201d And\nshe told them that he had said these things to her.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
