Sermon given our vicar Rev\u2019 Nick Mwandia on the 28\/8\/22 on the eleventh Sunday after Trinity \u2013 entitled \u2018Humility\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/280822\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/280822\/280822.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 2:05<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Luke 14 v 1, 7-14<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Jesus at a Pharisee\u2019s House<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font> One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> \u201cWhen someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, \u2018Give this person your seat.\u2019 Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, \u2018Friend, move up to a better place.\u2019 Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font> For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font> Then Jesus said to his host, \u201cWhen you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font> But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>14<\/b><\/font> and you will be blessed.
