Sermon given our priest in charge the Rev&#8217; Nick Mwandia on the 18th Sunday after Trinity on the 16\/10\/22. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/161022_202210\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/161022_202210\/161022.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 3:12<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Jeremiah 31 v 27-34 <\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font> \u201cThe days are coming,\u201d declares the Lord, \u201cwhen I will plant the kingdoms of Israel\nand Judah with the offspring of people and of animals. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font> Just as I watched over\nthem to uproot and tear down, and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster, so I will\nwatch over them to build and to plant,\u201d declares the Lord. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>29<\/b><\/font> \u201cIn those days people\nwill no longer say,\n\u2018The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children\u2019s teeth are set on edge.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>30<\/b><\/font> Instead, everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes\u2014their own\nteeth will be set on edge.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>31<\/b><\/font> \u201cThe days are coming,\u201d declares the Lord, \u201cwhen I will make a new covenant with\nthe people of Israel and with the people of Judah. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>32<\/b><\/font> It will not be like the covenant I\nmade with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt,\nbecause they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,\u201d declares\nthe Lord. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>33<\/b><\/font> \u201cThis is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,\u201d\ndeclares the Lord. \u201cI will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will\nbe their God, and they will be my people. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>34<\/b><\/font> No longer will they teach their\nneighbour, or say to one another, \u2018Know the Lord,\u2019 because they will all\nknow me, from the least of them to the greatest,\u201d declares the Lord. \u201cFor I will\nforgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.\u201d\n\n<br><br><br>\n\n<font color=\"red\">Second Reading: Luke 18 v 1-8 \n<br><br>\nThe Parable of the Persistent Widow<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font> Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray\nand not give up. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> He said: \u201cIn a certain town there was a judge who neither feared\nGod nor cared what people thought. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font> And there was a widow in that town who kept\ncoming to him with the plea, \u2018Grant me justice against my adversary.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> \u201cFor some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, \u2018Even though I don\u2019t fear\nGod or care what people think, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font> yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will\nsee that she gets justice, so that she won\u2019t eventually come and attack me!\u2019\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> And the Lord said, \u201cListen to what the unjust judge says. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> And will not God bring\nabout justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep\nputting them off? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.
