They are like children sitting in the\nmarket-places and calling out to others:\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>17<\/b><\/font> \u2018\u201cWe played the pipe for you,\nand you did not dance;\nwe sang a dirge,\nand you did not mourn.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font> For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, \u201cHe has a\ndemon.\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>19<\/b><\/font> The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, \u201cHere is a\nglutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.\u201d But wisdom is\nproved right by her deeds.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>25<\/b><\/font> At that time Jesus said, \u2018I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,\nbecause you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and\nrevealed them to little children. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>26<\/b><\/font> Yes, Father, for this is what you were\npleased to do.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font> \u2018All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son\nexcept the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to\nwhom the Son chooses to reveal him.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font> \u2018Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you\nrest. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>29<\/b><\/font> Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble\nin heart, and you will find rest for your souls. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>30<\/b><\/font> For my yoke is easy and my\nburden is light.\u2019\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Todays sermon was given by our reader Julie Taylor on the 5th Sunday after Trinity, 9th July 2023.
