{"id":800,"date":"2023-07-16T13:55:04","date_gmt":"2023-07-16T12:55:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/46.32.240.45\/slipend.co.uk\/sermons\/?p=800"},"modified":"2023-07-16T13:55:04","modified_gmt":"2023-07-16T12:55:04","slug":"challenges-to-fruitfulness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/slipend.co.uk\/sermons\/2023\/07\/16\/challenges-to-fruitfulness\/","title":{"rendered":"Challenges To Fruitfulness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Todays sermon was given by our priest in charge the Rev Nick Mwandia on the 6th Sunday after Trinity, 16th July <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/160723\" width=\"500\" height=\"60\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/160723\/160723.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 2:52<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Matthew 13 v 1-9 &#038; 18-23 <\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font> That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> Such large\ncrowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people\nstood on the shore. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font> Then he told them many things in parables, saying: \u201cA farmer\nwent out to sow his seed. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path,\nand the birds came and ate it up. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font> Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have\nmuch soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> But when the sun\ncame up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no\nroot. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> Still\nother seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop\u2014a hundred, sixty or thirty\ntimes what was sown. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> Whoever has ears, let them hear.\u201d\n<br><br><br>\n\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font> \u201cListen then to what the parable of the sower means: \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>19<\/b><\/font> When anyone hears the\nmessage about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and\nsnatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the\npath. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>20<\/b><\/font> The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and\nat once receives it with joy. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>21<\/b><\/font> But since they have no root, they last only a short\ntime. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall\naway. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>22<\/b><\/font> The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word,\nbut the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it\nunfruitful. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>23<\/b><\/font> But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word\nand understands it.
