{"id":815,"date":"2023-08-20T19:38:35","date_gmt":"2023-08-20T18:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/46.32.240.45\/slipend.co.uk\/sermons\/?p=815"},"modified":"2023-08-20T19:43:03","modified_gmt":"2023-08-20T18:43:03","slug":"the-bad-the-good-and-the-faithful","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/slipend.co.uk\/sermons\/2023\/08\/20\/the-bad-the-good-and-the-faithful\/","title":{"rendered":"The Bad, The Good and the Faithful"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Todays sermon was given by our priest in charge the Rev Nick Mwandia on the 11th Sunday after Trinity, 20th August <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/200823_202308\" width=\"500\" height=\"60\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/200823_202308\/200823.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 3:03<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Matthew 15 v 10-28<\/font>\t\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Jesus called the crowd to him and said,&nbsp;\u201cListen and understand.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;What goes into someone\u2019s mouth does not defile them,&nbsp;but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Then the disciples came to him and asked, \u201cDo you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;He replied,&nbsp;\u201cEvery plant that my heavenly Father has not planted&nbsp;will be pulled up by the roots.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>14<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Leave them; they are blind guides.&nbsp;If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>15<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Peter said, \u201cExplain the parable to us.\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>16<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u201cAre you still so dull?\u201d&nbsp;Jesus asked them.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>17<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u201cDon\u2019t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body?&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;But the things that come out of a person\u2019s mouth come from the heart,&nbsp;and these defile them.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>19<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;For out of the heart come evil thoughts\u2014murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>20<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;These are what defile a person;&nbsp;but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">The Faith of a Canaanite Woman<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>21<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>22<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, \u201cLord, Son of David,&nbsp;have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>23<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, \u201cSend her away, for she keeps crying out after us.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>24<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;He answered,&nbsp;\u201cI was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>25<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;The woman came and knelt before him.&nbsp;\u201cLord, help me!\u201d she said.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>26<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;He replied,&nbsp;\u201cIt is not right to take the children\u2019s bread and toss it to the dogs.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u201cYes it is, Lord,\u201d she said. \u201cEven the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master\u2019s table.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Then Jesus said to her,&nbsp;\u201cWoman, you have great faith!&nbsp;Your request is granted.\u201d&nbsp;And her daughter was healed at that moment.\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Todays sermon was given by our priest in charge the Rev Nick Mwandia on the 11th Sunday after Trinity, 20th August Download Mp3&nbsp;HERE!
