You aren\u2019t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they\nare. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>17<\/b><\/font> Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar\nor not?\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font> But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, \u201cYou hypocrites, why are you trying to\ntrap me? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>19<\/b><\/font> Show me the coin used for paying the tax.\u201d They brought him a\ndenarius,\n <br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>20<\/b><\/font> and he asked them, \u201cWhose image is this? And whose inscription?\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>21<\/b><\/font> \u201cCaesar\u2019s,\u201d they replied.\nThen he said to them, \u201cSo give back to Caesar what is Caesar\u2019s, and to God what is\nGod\u2019s.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>22<\/b><\/font> When they heard this, they were amazed. So, they left him and went away.\n\n<br><br><br>\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">1 Corinthians 12 v 1-11\n<br><br>\nConcerning Spiritual Gifts<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font> Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be\nuninformed. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were\ninfluenced and led astray to mute idols. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font> Therefore I want you to know that no one\nwho is speaking by the Spirit of God says, \u201cJesus be cursed,\u201d and no one can say,\n\u201cJesus is Lord,\u201d except by the Holy Spirit.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font> There are\ndifferent kinds of service, but the same Lord. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> There are different kinds of working,\nbut in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> To\none there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of\nknowledge by means of the same Spirit, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> to another faith by the same Spirit, to\nanother gifts of healing by that one Spirit, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> to another miraculous powers, to\nanother prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in\ndifferent kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font> All\nthese are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one,\njust as he determines.\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Todays sermon was given by our priest in charge the Rev Nick Mwandia on the 20th Sunday after Trinity, 22nd Octorber 2023.
