Given by Rev Cathy Pullinger on Easter Sunday 20\/4\/25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/200425_202504\" width=\"500\" height=\"60\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/200425_202504\/200425.mp3\">HERE<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/download\/020225\/020225.mp3\">!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 4:44<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Acts 10 v 34-43<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>34<\/b><\/font>\n Then Peter began to speak: \u2018I now realise how true it is that God does not\nshow favouritism \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>35<\/b><\/font> but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and\ndoes what is right. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>36<\/b><\/font> You know the message God sent to the people of Israel,\nannouncing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of\nall. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>37<\/b><\/font> You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea,\nbeginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached \u2013 \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>38<\/b><\/font> how God\nanointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went\naround doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil,\nbecause God was with him.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>39<\/b><\/font>\n \u2018We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in\nJerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>40<\/b><\/font> but God raised him\nfrom the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>41<\/b><\/font> He was not seen\nby all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen \u2013 by us\nwho ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>42<\/b><\/font> He commanded us\nto preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed\nas judge of the living and the dead. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>43<\/b><\/font> All the prophets testify about him that\neveryone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.\u2019\n\n<br><br>_______________<br>\n\n\n\n\nAlleluia, alleluia<br>\nI am the first and the last, says the Lord, and the living one;\nI was dead, and behold I am alive for evermore.\n<br>\n<b>Alleluia<\/b>\n\n<br><br>\nHear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John.\n<br><br>\n<b>Glory to you, O Lord.<\/b>\n<br>_____________<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">John 20 v 1-18<\/font>\n <br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font> Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went\nto the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> So\nshe came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus\nloved, and said, \u201cThey have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don\u2019t know\nwhere they have put him!\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font>\n So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. \n <br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> Both were running, but\nthe other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font> He bent over and\nlooked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of\nlinen lying there, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus\u2019\nhead. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> Finally the\nother disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and\nbelieved. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise\nfrom the dead.) \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font>\n Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look\ninto the tomb \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font> and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus\u2019 body had\nbeen, one at the head and the other at the foot.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font>\n They asked her, \u201cWoman, why are you crying?\u201d\n\u201cThey have taken my Lord away,\u201d she said, \u201cand I don\u2019t know where they have\nput him.\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>14<\/b><\/font> At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she\ndid not realize that it was Jesus.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>15<\/b><\/font>\n He asked her, \u201cWoman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?\u201d\nThinking he was the gardener, she said, \u201cSir, if you have carried him away, tell\nme where you have put him, and I will get him.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>16<\/b><\/font>\n Jesus said to her, \u201cMary.\u201d\nShe turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, \u201cRabboni!\u201d (which means\n\u201cTeacher\u201d).\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>17<\/b><\/font>\n Jesus said, \u201cDo not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father.\nGo instead to my brothers and tell them, \u2018I am ascending to my Father and\nyour Father, to my God and your God.\u2019\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font>\n Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: \u201cI have seen the Lord!\u201d\nAnd she told them that he had said these things to her.\n\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
