Given by our reader Julie Taylor on the 9th Sunday after Trinity on the 17\/8\/25 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/170825_202508\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/170825_202508\/170825.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 4:31<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Isaiah 5 v 1-7\t\t\n<br><br>\nThe song of the vineyard<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font>\u00a0I will sing for the one I love\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0a song about his vineyard:\nmy loved one had a vineyard\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0on a fertile hillside.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font>\u00a0He dug it up and cleared it of stones\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and planted it with the choicest vines.\nHe built a watchtower in it\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and cut out a winepress as well.\nThen he looked for a crop of good grapes,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but it yielded only bad fruit.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font>\u00a0\u2018Now you dwellers in Jerusalem and people of Judah,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0judge between me and my vineyard.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font>\u00a0What more could have been done for my vineyard\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0than I have done for it?\nWhen I looked for good grapes,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0why did it yield only bad?\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Now I will tell you\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0what I am going to do to my vineyard:\nI will take away its hedge,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and it will be destroyed;\nI will break down its wall,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and it will be trampled.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font>\u00a0I will make it a wasteland,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0neither pruned nor cultivated,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and briers and thorns will grow there.\nI will command the clouds\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0not to rain on it.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font>\u00a0The vineyard of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0Almighty\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0is the nation of Israel,\nand the people of Judah\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0are the vines he delighted in.\nAnd he looked for justice, but saw bloodshed;\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for righteousness, but heard cries of distress.\n<br><br><br>\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Luke 12 v 49-56\t\n<br><br>\nNot Peace but Division<\/font>\n<br><br>\n\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>49<\/b><\/font>\u00a0\u201cI have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>50<\/b><\/font>\u00a0But I have a baptism\u00a0to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>51<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>52<\/b><\/font>\u00a0From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>53<\/b><\/font>\u00a0They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Interpreting the Times<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>54<\/b><\/font>\u00a0He said to the crowd:\u00a0\u201cWhen you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, \u2018It\u2019s going to rain,\u2019 and it does.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>55<\/b><\/font>\u00a0And when the south wind blows, you say, \u2018It\u2019s going to be hot,\u2019 and it is.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>56<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky.
