Given by Archdeacon Dave who visited us for our Communion Service on the 19th October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/191025_202510\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/191025_202510\/191025.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 3:34<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Jeremiah 31 v 27-34<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u2018The days are coming,\u2019 declares the&nbsp;Lord, \u2018when I will plant the kingdoms of Israel and Judah with the offspring of people and of animals.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Just as I watched over them to uproot and tear down, and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant,\u2019 declares the&nbsp;Lord.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>29<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u2018In those days people will no longer say,\n\u201cThe parents have eaten sour grapes,\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and the children\u2019s teeth are set on edge.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>30<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Instead, everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes&nbsp;\u2013 their own teeth will be set on edge.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>31<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u2018The days are coming,\u2019 declares the&nbsp;Lord,\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2018when I will make a new covenant\nwith the people of Israel\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and with the people of Judah.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>32<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;It will not be like the covenant<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I made with their ancestors<br>\nwhen I took them by the hand<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;to lead them out of Egypt,<br>\nbecause they broke my covenant,<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;though I was a husband to&nbsp;them,\u2019<br>\ndeclares the&nbsp;Lord.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>33<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u2018This is the covenant that I will make with the people of Israel<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;after that time,\u2019 declares the&nbsp;Lord.<br>\n\u2018I will put my law in their minds<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and write it on their hearts.<br>\nI will be their God,<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and they will be my people.<br>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>34<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;No longer will they teach their neighbour,<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;or say to one another, \u201cKnow the&nbsp;Lord,\u201d<br>\nbecause they will all know me,<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;from the least of them to the greatest,\u2019<br>\ndeclares the&nbsp;Lord.<br>\n\u2018For I will forgive their wickedness<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and will remember their sins no more.\u2019\n\n<br><br><br>\n\n<font color=\"red\">Luke 18 v 1-8 \n<br><br>\nThe Parable of the Persistent Widow<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;He said:&nbsp;\u201cIn a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, \u2018Grant me justice&nbsp;against my adversary.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u201cFor some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, \u2018Even though I don\u2019t fear God or care what people think,&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won\u2019t eventually come and attack me!\u2019\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;And the Lord&nbsp;said,&nbsp;\u201cListen to what the unjust judge says.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out&nbsp;to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man&nbsp;comes,&nbsp;will he find faith on the earth?\u201d\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
