Given by our reader Julie Taylor at our Shoebox Sunday Service on the 16th Nov&#8217; 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/161125_202511\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/161125_202511\/161125.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 3:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Luke 10 v 25-37\t\n<br><br>\nThe parable of the good Samaritan<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>25<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. \u2018Teacher,\u2019 he asked, \u2018what must I do to inherit eternal life?\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>26<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u2018What is written in the Law?\u2019&nbsp;he replied.&nbsp;\u2018How do you read it?\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;He answered, \u2018\u201cLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind\u201d; and, \u201cLove your neighbour as yourself.\u201d\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u2018You have answered correctly,\u2019&nbsp;Jesus replied.&nbsp;\u2018Do this and you will live.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>29<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, \u2018And who is my neighbour?\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>30<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;In reply Jesus said:&nbsp;\u2018A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half-dead.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>31<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>32<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>33<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;But a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>34<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.&nbsp;\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>35<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;The next day he took out two denarii; and gave them to the innkeeper. \u201cLook after him,\u201d he said, \u201cand when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>36<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;\u2018Which of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>37<\/b><\/font>&nbsp;The expert in the law replied, \u2018The one who had mercy on him.\u2019\nJesus told him,&nbsp;\u2018Go and do likewise.\u2019\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
