Given by our new vicar Rev Lindsey Moss, recorded on the 7th June 2026 on the 1st Sunday after Trinity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/070626\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/070626\/070626.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 2:24<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Matthew 9 v 9-13 &#038; 18-26\n<br><br>\nThe Calling of Matthew<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector\u2019s booth. \u201cFollow me,\u201d he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew\u2019s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font> When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, \u201cWhy does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font> On hearing this, Jesus said, \u201cIt is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font> But go and learn what this means: \u2018I desire mercy, not sacrifice.\u2019 For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.\u201d\n\n<br><br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>18<\/b><\/font> While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, \u201cMy daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.\u201d \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>19<\/b><\/font> Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>20<\/b><\/font> Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>21<\/b><\/font> She said to herself, \u201cIf I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>22<\/b><\/font> Jesus turned and saw her. \u201cTake heart, daughter,\u201d he said, \u201cyour faith has healed you.\u201d And the woman was healed at that moment.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>23<\/b><\/font> When Jesus entered the synagogue leader\u2019s house and saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>24<\/b><\/font> he said, \u201cGo away. The girl is not dead but asleep.\u201d But they laughed at him. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>25<\/b><\/font> After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>26<\/b><\/font> News of this spread through all that region.\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
