Given by our reader Richard Palmer, recorded on the 30th August <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/300826\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/300826\/300826.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 4:53<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Exodus 3 v 1-15\n<br><br> \nMoses and the Burning Bush<\/font>\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font> Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. \n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. \n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font> So Moses thought, \u201cI will go over and see this strange sight\u2014why the bush does not burn up.\u201d\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, \u201cMoses! Moses!\u201d\n<br><br> \nAnd Moses said, \u201cHere I am.\u201d\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font> \u201cDo not come any closer,\u201d God said. \u201cTake off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.\u201d \n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> Then he said, \u201cI am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.\u201d At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> The Lord said, \u201cI have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. \n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey\u2014the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. \n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. \n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.\u201d\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font> But Moses said to God, \u201cWho am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?\u201d\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>12<\/b><\/font> And God said, \u201cI will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.\u201d\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>13<\/b><\/font> Moses said to God, \u201cSuppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, \u2018The God of your fathers has sent me to you,\u2019 and they ask me, \u2018What is his name?\u2019 Then what shall I tell them?\u201d\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>14<\/b><\/font> God said to Moses, \u201cI am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: \u2018I am has sent me to you.\u2019\u201d\n<br><br> \n<font color=\"blue\"><b>15<\/b><\/font> God also said to Moses, \u201cSay to the Israelites, \u2018The Lord, the God of your fathers\u2014the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob\u2014has sent me to you.\u2019\n<br><br> \n&nbsp;\u201cThis is my name forever,<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;    the name you shall call me<br>\n   &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;from generation to generation.\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
