Recorded on   the 19\/01\/20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/190120_202001\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3 <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/190120_202001\/190120.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 4:06<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Isaiah 49 v 1-7<\/font>\n<br><br>\n\n<font color=\"red\">The Servant of the Lord<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>1<\/strong><\/font> Listen to me, you islands;<br>\n    hear this, you distant nations:<br>\nBefore I was born the Lord called me;<br>\n    from my mother\u2019s womb he has spoken my name.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>2 <\/strong><\/font>He made my mouth like a sharpened sword,<br>\n    in the shadow of his hand he hid me;<br>\nhe made me into a polished arrow<br>\n    and concealed me in his quiver.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>3 <\/strong><\/font>He said to me, \u201cYou are my servant,<br>\n    Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>4<\/strong><\/font> But I said, \u201cI have labored in vain;<br>\n    I have spent my strength for nothing at all.<br>\nYet what is due me is in the Lord\u2019s hand,<br>\n    and my reward is with my God.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>5<\/strong><\/font> And now the Lord says\u2014<br>\n    he who formed me in the womb to be his servant<br>\nto bring Jacob back to him<br>\n    and gather Israel to himself,<br>\nfor I am honored in the eyes of the Lord<br>\n    and my God has been my strength\u2014\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>6<\/strong><\/font> he says:<br>\n\u201cIt is too small a thing for you to be my servant<br>\n    to restore the tribes of Jacob<br>\n    and bring back those of Israel I have kept.<br>\nI will also make you a light for the Gentiles,<br>\n    that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>7<\/strong><\/font> This is what the Lord says\u2014<br>\n    the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel\u2014<br>\nto him who was despised and abhorred by the nation,<br>\n    to the servant of rulers:<br>\n\u201cKings will see you and stand up,<br>\n    princes will see and bow down,<br>\nbecause of the Lord, who is faithful,<br>\n    the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<br>\n\n<font color=\"red\">John 1 v 29-42<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">John Testifies About Jesus<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>29<\/strong><\/font> The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, \u201cLook, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>30<\/strong><\/font> This is the one I meant when I said, \u2018A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.\u2019 \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>31<\/strong><\/font> I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>32<\/strong><\/font> Then John gave this testimony: \u201cI saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>33<\/strong><\/font> And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, \u2018The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.\u2019 \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>34<\/strong><\/font> I have seen and I testify that this is God\u2019s Chosen One.\u201d\n<br><br>\n\n<br>\n<font color=\"red\">John\u2019s Disciples Follow Jesus<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>35<\/strong><\/font> The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>36<\/strong><\/font> When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, \u201cLook, the Lamb of God!\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>37<\/strong><\/font> When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>38<\/strong><\/font> Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, \u201cWhat do you want?\u201d\n<br><br>\nThey said, \u201cRabbi\u201d (which means \u201cTeacher\u201d), \u201cwhere are you staying?\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>39<\/strong><\/font> \u201cCome,\u201d he replied, \u201cand you will see.\u201d\n<br><br>\nSo they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>40<\/strong><\/font> Andrew, Simon Peter\u2019s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>41<\/strong><\/font> The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, \u201cWe have found the Messiah\u201d (that is, the Christ). \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>42<\/strong><\/font> And he brought him to Jesus.\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church given by our vicar Rev&#8217; Cathy Pulliger in this 2nd Sunday of Epiphany called \u2018Jesus, The Lamb of God\u2019.
