Jesus\u2019 mother was there, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>2<\/strong><\/font> and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>3<\/strong><\/font> When the wine was gone, Jesus\u2019 mother said to him, \u201cThey have no more wine.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>4<\/strong><\/font> \u201cWoman, why do you involve me?\u201d Jesus replied. \u201cMy hour has not yet come.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>5<\/strong><\/font> His mother said to the servants, \u201cDo whatever he tells you.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>6<\/strong><\/font> Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>7<\/strong><\/font> Jesus said to the servants, \u201cFill the jars with water\u201d; so they filled them to the brim.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>8<\/strong><\/font> Then he told them, \u201cNow draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>9<\/strong><\/font> They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>10<\/strong><\/font> and said, \u201cEveryone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><strong>11<\/strong><\/font> What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church given by our reader Rev\u2019 Cathy Pullinger in this 4th Sunday of Epiphany with the sermon called \u2018Wedding At Cana\u2019.
