Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.\n<br><br>\n<font color-\"blue\"=\"\"><b> 6<\/b><\/font> John wore clothing made of camel\u2019s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. \n<br><br>\n<font color-\"blue\"=\"\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> And this was his message: \u201cAfter me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. \n<br><br>\n<font color-\"blue\"=\"\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">The Baptism and Testing of Jesus<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color-\"blue\"=\"\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. \n<br><br>\n<font color-\"blue\"=\"\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. \n<br><br>\n<font color-\"blue\"=\"\"><b>11<\/b><\/font> And a voice came from heaven: \u201cYou are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
