Recorded on the 20\/11\/22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/201122_202211\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/201122_202211\/201122.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 4:25<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Jeremiah 23 v 1-6 <\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>1<\/b><\/font>\n\u201cWoe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my\npasture!\u201d declares the Lord. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says\nto the shepherds who tend my people: \u201cBecause you have scattered my flock and\ndriven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on\nyou for the evil you have done,\u201d declares the Lord. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font> \u201cI myself will gather the\nremnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring\nthem back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> I will\nplace shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or\nterrified, nor will any be missing,\u201d declares the Lord.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font>\n\u201cThe days are coming,\u201d declares the Lord, \u201cwhen I will raise up for David a\nrighteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the\nland. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the\nname by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Saviour.\n\n<br><br><br>\n<font color=\"red\">Second Reading: Luke 23 v 33-43<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>33<\/b><\/font>\nWhen they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with\nthe criminals\u2014one on his right, the other on his left. \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>34<\/b><\/font> Jesus said, \u201cFather, forgive\nthem, for they do not know what they are doing.\u201d And they divided up his clothes by\ncasting lots.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>35<\/b><\/font>\nThe people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, \u201cHe\nsaved others; let him save himself if he is God\u2019s Messiah, the Chosen One.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>36<\/b><\/font>\nThe soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>37<\/b><\/font> and\nsaid, \u201cIf you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>38<\/b><\/font>\nThere was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>39<\/b><\/font>\nOne of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: \u201cAren\u2019t you the\nMessiah? Save yourself and us!\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>40<\/b><\/font>\nBut the other criminal rebuked him. \u201cDon\u2019t you fear God,\u201d he said, \u201csince you are\nunder the same sentence? \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>41<\/b><\/font> We are punished justly, for we are getting what our\ndeeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>42<\/b><\/font> Then he said, \u201cJesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>43<\/b><\/font> Jesus answered him, \u201cTruly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.\u201d\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
