Jesus\u2019 mother was\nthere, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>2<\/b><\/font> and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>3<\/b><\/font> When the wine was gone, Jesus\u2019 mother said to him, \u2018They have no more\nwine.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>4<\/b><\/font> \u2018Woman, why do you involve me?\u2019 Jesus replied. \u2018My hour has not yet come.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>5<\/b><\/font> His mother said to the servants, \u2018Do whatever he tells you.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>6<\/b><\/font> Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial\nwashing, each holding from eighty to a hundred and twenty litres.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>7<\/b><\/font> Jesus said to the servants, \u2018Fill the jars with water\u2019; so they filled them to the\nbrim.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>8<\/b><\/font> Then he told them, \u2018Now draw some out and take it to the master of the\nbanquet.\u2019\nThey did so, \n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>9<\/b><\/font> and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been\nturned into wine. He did not realise where it had come from, though the\nservants who had drawn the water knew. <br><br>Then he called the bridegroom aside\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>10<\/b><\/font> and said, \u2018Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper\nwine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best\ntill now.\u2019\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>11<\/b><\/font> What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through\nwhich he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon from St Andrews Church, Slip End, UK.
