{"id":933,"date":"2024-06-09T14:37:44","date_gmt":"2024-06-09T13:37:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slipend.co.uk\/sermons\/?p=933"},"modified":"2024-06-09T14:37:44","modified_gmt":"2024-06-09T13:37:44","slug":"we-are-gods-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slipend.co.uk\/sermons\/2024\/06\/09\/we-are-gods-family\/","title":{"rendered":"We Are God&#8217;s Family"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today\u2019s sermon was given by our reader Julie Taylor on the second sunday after Trinity , 9th June 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/090624\" width=\"500\" height=\"60\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Download Mp3\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/090624\/090624.mp3\">HERE!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sermon starts at 2:31<\/p>\n\n\n\n<font color=\"red\">Mark 3 v 20-35\n<br><br>\nJesus Accused by His Family and by Teachers of the Law<\/font>\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>20<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered,\u00a0so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>21<\/b><\/font>\u00a0When his family\u00a0heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, \u201cHe is out of his mind.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>22<\/b><\/font>\u00a0And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem\u00a0said, \u201cHe is possessed by Beelzebul!\u00a0By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>23<\/b><\/font>\u00a0So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables:\u00a0\u201cHow can Satan\u00a0drive out Satan?\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>24<\/b><\/font>\u00a0If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>25<\/b><\/font>\u00a0If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>26<\/b><\/font>\u00a0And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>27<\/b><\/font>\u00a0In fact, no one can enter a strong man\u2019s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man\u2019s house.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>28<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter,\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>29<\/b><\/font>\u00a0but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>30<\/b><\/font>\u00a0He said this because they were saying, \u201cHe has an impure spirit.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>31<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Then Jesus\u2019 mother and brothers arrived.\u00a0Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>32<\/b><\/font>\u00a0A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, \u201cYour mother and brothers are outside looking for you.\u201d\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>33<\/b><\/font>\u00a0\u201cWho are my mother and my brothers?\u201d\u00a0he asked.\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>34<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said,\u00a0\u201cHere are my mother and my brothers!\u00a0\n<br><br>\n<font color=\"blue\"><b>35<\/b><\/font>\u00a0Whoever does God\u2019s will is my brother and sister and mother.\u201d\n<br><br>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today\u2019s sermon was given by our reader Julie Taylor on the second sunday after Trinity , 9th June 2024.
